True lifetime license

When you purchase Ruru, you own that version and all future releases:

• One-Time Payment: No recurring monthly or annual subscription fees.
• All Major Versions Included: Your license covers all maintenance patches, feature updates, and future major version releases (such as v2.x and beyond) without upgrade fees.
• Device Allowance: A single license key may be activated concurrently on up to two (2) Macs for your own personal use (e.g. your desktop Mac and MacBook).

7-day free trial

Every new installation of Ruru begins with an unrestricted 7-day trial:

• No user account, credit card, or email registration required.
• Trial state is recorded locally in your Mac's secure Keychain and is never phoned home to an analytics or tracking server.
• When the trial ends, summon gestures pause until a license key is entered, while your settings and history remain untouched on your machine.

30-day offline grace period

Ruru validates license keys directly with Polar's API. To support working while traveling or without internet access, Ruru caches a local validation record on your Mac for up to 30 days.

Sparkle auto-updates

Ruru integrates the industry-standard Sparkle 2.9.6 framework for secure, signed software updates:

• Updates are published to our signed public appcast on GitHub.
• Ruru checks for updates in the background and notifies you with release notes when a new version is available.
• You can manually check for updates anytime from the menu bar icon or via Settings > About > Check for Updates.
